Lansing — A scathing report by the state House Oversight Committee accuses Michigan State Police Director Col. James Grady of routinely displaying a "disregard for past practice and policy," promoting key leadership personnel based solely on their race, and retaliating against anyone who questioned his decisions.

According to the Michigan State Police, a 72-year-old man from Belding was driving south when he lost control and crossed into the northbound lane. He crashed into a northbound pickup truck driven by a 44-year-old Orleans man, then hit a second northbound vehicle with a 17-year-old driver and a 15-year-old passenger.
